My Writings

“I do not over-intellectualize the production process. I try to keep it simple: Tell the damned story.”
—Tom Clancy, WD

I love writing. I am no professional,  but if it matters, I have a strong family history of writing. From my great-grandfather, to my father and uncles, every one writes – mostly poetry . I wrote my first poem at the age of 5 (well, thought of it and said it out, my Mom wrote it down on the paper) and since then I have written on and off. I started poetry in my mother tongue – Urdu, later writing in just English and now I write in both languages.

I started blogging with just an exclusive “writing blog” where I shared my first short story, “regressions” – my personal favorite on my blog (which is still out there on the net) called –  “Musings of a doctor to be” but is now called, “Ramblings of a Doctor to be” . I wanted a platform to start with least pressure, and get a general feedback about my writing, before I take it up as a full-time hobby and a blog was the BEST idea, as I could post according to my ease.

Being a medical student, it is extremely difficult to always have such a state of mind where you’re inspired enough to stay up all night inking down an imaginary tale. Medicine, although is my first love – is a hell of a demanding field and the journey to that M.D. is exhausting. But at the same time, writing is something I cannot live without – as they say, love isn’t everything for life, so once in a while, I just take time off and pour it all out on the paper.
